AVBRN’s Newest Members
The Antelope Valley Birth Resource Network continues to grow with two new members! Please help me welcome Kelly Wilson and Rachel Jones.
Rachel Jones, AAHCC
Rachel is a childbirth educator affiliated with The Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth™. She has been teaching couples the Bradley™ way to have a healthy pregnancy and birth since 2013.
She has safely birthed four healthy babies into the waiting hands of her loving and supportive husband/coach. She did so in water births at home under the watchful care of her midwives. She has been breastfeeding her babies since 2010 at times tandem nursing. She assisted licensed midwives in many home births as an apprentice midwife prior to becoming a Bradley Method™ affiliated teacher.
Kelly Wilson is the chapter leader for the AV chapter of ICAN – the International Cesarean Awareness Network. ICAN is a free community resource and non-profit whose mission is to improve mom and baby outcomes by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, supporting mom’s recovering from cesareans and promoting vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
Kelly acts as a peer mentor and advocates for VBAC, women’s access to VBAC providers and care, and choice in childbirth. She facilitates monthly ICAN meetings, offers individualized support, is a mom to three little girls and a military spouse for 7 years.
